As a part of a yearly initiative, toys were thrown onto pitch as a Christmas present for underprivileged children, so that ' child is left without his gift on se dates.'
Real Betis continue yearly initiative for children
In ir first home game since Christmas, Real Betis football club continued trition of making a kind gesture towards underprivileged children. At end of first half of Real Betis vs Athletic Club game, fans of home side threw thousands of stuffed animals and toys onto pitch. "Seeing grass of Estio Benito Villamarín covered with stuffed animals has become picture of every Verdiblanca Christmas that goes around world. An action that is alrey a trition in last game of year at home.
In dition to stuffed animals, many of fans have brought or s of toys that have been delivered at door of Stium. In total, 14,000 stuffed animals and toys were collected so that child is left without his gift on se dates.
This solidarity initiative by Club once again demonstrates solidarity of Real Betis fans. After referee whistled end of first half of Real Betis-Athletic Club and after countdown by speaker, fans sprinkled verdiblanco grass with stuffed animals, leaving a colorful im on pitch.
Since this morning, Real Betis Foundation has alrey been delivering stuffed animals to different associations in city and will continue to distribute m both nationally and internationally over coming weeks and months.
Among recipients who have alrey received green and white stuffed animals is Spanish Commission for Refugee Assistance or children who are beneficiaries of project that Foundation has in Equatorial Guinea led by Benjamín Zarandona."
