Real Madrid chief visits Juventus President Agnelli to discuss about European Super League
Real Madrid President Florentino Perez flew to Turin on Monday to meet Juventus chief Andrea Agnelli about the European Super League and its chances.

Real Madrid president Florenti Perez flew to Turin, Italy on Monday to pay a visit to Juventus chief Andrea Agnelli. Perez enjoys a decent relationship with chiefs of several top clubs across Europe and Agnelli is different. His meeting with Juventus president has raised eyebrows, with reports suggesting a discussion on proposed European Super League was on table.

Florenti Perez meets Juventus president Agnelli
According to Spanish media publication Marca, Perez visited Turin after an invitation was extended to him by Agnelli. Juventus chief, who also happens to be president of European Club Association, invited Perez to visit Juventus' facilities. nda of meet was to discuss football.

Perez advocates an invative model of European competition
Speaking to Real Madrid assembly, Perez had reportedly stated that y need to be thoughtful of new and invative ideas to ensure that sport remains appealing to audience. He advocated changes to current model of European club competition, citing negative impact due to COVID-19 pandemic.

"re is saturation, and fans, most important thing, are suffering. re are consequences for players too. Football's reform shouldn't wait. We have to change. Europe's big teams have millions of fans and we cant turn our backs on m," added Real Madrid chief.

Will European Super League proposal materialise?
Perez has been an ardent supporter of European Super League which will effectively see 16 to 18 teams compete at highest st beginning from 2022. Several of European giants, including likes of Barcelona, Manchester United and Liverpool are also supportive of new format.
Interestingly, former Barcelona President Josep Maria Bartomeu, in his farewell speech had confirmed that club were in favour of proposed competition, which is thought to be sponsored by JP Morgan Bank. But LaLiga chief Javier Tebas blames Perez for influencing Bartomeu's decision.
