In their third LaLiga fixture, FC Barcelona came from behind to pick up the win against Rayo Vallecano 2-1. The match was a hard fought victory for the Catalans. This was Barcelona's third win in three games which put them at 9-points and at the top of the LaLiga table. Hansi Flick has had a great start to his career in Spain as Barcelona were also finally able to register Dani Olmo who proved to be the point of difference with his 82min goal. Despite all of this, the Barcelona dressing room was in a somber mood due to 17-year old Marc Bernal getting seriously injured and being taken off the pitch.

Barcelona have now confirmed that Bernal suffered an ACL tear and there is also injury to his meniscus.

Real Madrid Boss Reacts

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti was asked about what he thinks about Bernal getting injured. Ancelotti put the blame on tight schedules and football calendars citing that the players don't get enough off-time, thus these things are bound to happen.

“It’s what happens when the calendar is too tight and there is no time to prepare. You have to choose between work or vacation. And when these are over, ten to eleven months of work arrive. It’s a lot. In August the intensity is maximum and you are caught without adequate preparation. It is a problem for everyone… and it is very sad,” said Ancelotti answering the question regarding Bernal's injury.

Real Madrid are facing their own issues of player absences due to injury as star defender David Alaba has been out for several months due to a knee injury.

Ancelotti Provides Alaba Update

Carlo Ancelotti provided an update on how the recovery process for David Alaba is going. He revealed that the defender has now started running and would be quite a while before he returns to action for the 15-time UCL winners. The tight schedule and the growing number of games per season has been causing a lot of injuries for players from all team as Ancelotti provided insight on what he plans to do to tackle the issue.

“It is a topic that I have discussed with the players. It was not a clip around the ears, nor pointing the finger… I have talked about an important topic and I have shown my opinion. Simply an evaluation and nothing more. The most critical thing is us to always try to find a solution. We have many resources and the idea is to make many changes. When the Champions League starts, the calendar will be tighter. We have to deal with that,” said Ancelotti.

Real Madrid are back in action against Las Palmas on Friday 1 am IST.
