Real Madrid's Marcelo takes knee after goal vs Eibar, shows 'Black Lives Matter' support

Spanish giants Real Mrid marked off an impeccable LaLiga restart on Sunday, humiliating Eibar 3-1 at Alfredo di Stefa. game saw pair of Sergio Ramos and Marcelo score for Zinedine Zidane, apart from opener from Toni Kroos. However, game saw impact of Black Lives Matter campaign when Real Mrid vice-captain Marcelo took a knee against killing of George Floyd after scoring against Eibar.

Real Mrid vs Eibar highlights: Toni Kroos, Sergio Ramos score for Zidane

Real Mrid marked off a magnificent LaLiga restart when Toni Kroos struck first goal of game in 4th minute. Striker Karim Benzema produced a moment of brilliance as he dribbled past two Eibar players in penalty area before passing it back to German international who stood unmarked at edge. Kroos, often kwn for his pacy shots and volleys, didn't disappoint again, striking it towards goal. 

Real Mrid captain Sergio Ramos was back in his groove when he initiated an attack against Eibar from backline, partnering well with Benzema and Eden Hazard. Benzema put in a startling cross towards Belgian who could've h an open shot on goal. He rar passed it on towards Real Mrid captain, who scored second goal of night with a simple tap-in.

Real Mrid vs Eibar highlights: Marcelo takes a knee

Marcelo scored third goal for Real Mrid in 37th minute when Eden Hazard raced in Eibar defence, attempting to score, but Dmitrovic produced a magnificent save but couldn't hold on to ball. Just n, Marcelo received ball courtesy of a defensive mistake by Eibar defence. Brazil international, without any delay, struck ball towards goal, leaving Dmitrovic clueless. Marcelo marked off his first LaLiga goal for campaign with a special tribute as he took a knee, lending his support to Black Lives Matter campaign.

second half saw Zidane make several changes in lineup, courtesy of five-substitution rule. Taking vant of Real Mrid's sloppiness in latter half, Eibar scored ir first and only goal, when Pedro Bigas struck a shot at Thibaut Courtois, whose mistake led to goal.

Real Mrid to play Valencia on Thursday

Real Mrid's win against Eibar takes ir tally to 59 points in LaLiga. On or hand, Barcelona le chart with 61 points, after ir stunning victory against Mallorca on Saturday. Los Blancos will next play Valencia on Thursday (Friday according to IST) at Alfredo di Stefa.
