Spain's Sergio Ramos' top goals; post breaking Iker Casillas' record
Ramos (168 matches) surpassed his former teammate Iker Casillas's (167 matches) record to become Spain's most-capped player ever since making debut in 2005.

Spain edged closer to qualifying for the Euro 2020 competition with a 1-1 draw against Norway on Saturday. Saul Niguez found the net for Spain, while Josh King saved the match for Norway with an injury-time penalty. Apart from the result, the match also made headlines as Sergio Ramos became Europe's most capped male outfield player in international football.

Sergio Ramos' new record at Euro 2020 qualifiers
Ramos (168 matches) surpassed his former teammate Iker Casillas's (167 matches) record to become Spain's most-capped player while playing against Norway. Ever since making his first senior appearance for Spain back in 2005, the centre-back has won back-to-back European Championships with Spain in 2008 and 2012, beating Germany and Italy in each final, as well as the World Cup in 2010, triumphing over the Netherlands in South Africa.

Spain vs San Marino, 2006 FIFA World Cup qualifier
Ramos made his debut in the same year in a 3-0 friendly win over China and in the same year, the defender scored his first two international goals in a 6–0 away thrashing of San Marino for the 2006 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Spain vs Denmark, Euro 2008 qualifier
While Spain started their Euro 2008 qualifying campaign with a 3-2 defeat in Northern Ireland, it was Ramos' goal against Denmark that will be remembered by Spanish fans. Spain leading 1-0, kept possession for a 28-pass move, but it was Ramos, who played as a right-back that year who made the overlapping run and lifted the ball over Denmark keeper Thomas Sorensen.

Spain 0-0 Portugal (4-2 on penalties), Euro 2012 semi-final
Ramos, along with Gerard Pique had formed a formidable centre-back pair that year. In the Euro 2012 semi-final., Ramos clashed against his Real Madrid colleague Cristiano Ronaldo's Portugal team, with neither side scoring across the 120 minutes of play.
The defender kept his cool and score with a "panenka" kick, burying the ghost of the blazing penalty miss for Madrid in April 2012's Champions League semi-final shootout against Bayern Munich.
Spain vs Finland, World Cup 2014 qualifier
Ramos was just 27 when we wore the captain armband for the World Cup 2014 qualifying game against group outsiders Finland. He celebrated the moment by heading in his ninth goal for his country but current Norwich striker Teemu Pukki equalized for his side with 10 minutes remaining to draw the game.
