When discussing Portugal's football team, the names that first come to mind for every football enthusiast are Cristiano Ronaldo and Pepe. Throughout several years, these esteemed athletes have made significant contributions to their respective fields. Pepe, aged 41, has recently announced his retirement, while Cristiano Ronaldo, who is 39 years old, appears to be nearing the conclusion of his illustrious football career. This marks the end of an era for both exceptional athletes.

Pepe reacts to Cristiano Ronaldo’s post for his retirement 

Veteran defender Pepe replied to Cristiano Ronaldo's moving Instagram message following his retirement announcement. Strongly bonded two Portuguese talents have performed many times for the Portugal national team as well as Real Madrid.

Pepe, 41, has had a remarkable career with three UEFA Champions League medals, two FIFA Club World Cups, three La Liga trophies, and four Portuguese league crowns. In addition, he helped Portugal celebrate its first significant international triumph—a historic victory in the UEFA Nations League and Euro 2016.

In view of Pepe's retirement, Cristiano Ronaldo, eight-year Real Madrid teammate, paid homage on Instagram under the following caption:

“There are not enough words to express how much you mean to me, friend. We won everything there was to win on the field, but the greatest achievement is the friendship and respect I have for you. You are unique, my brother. Thank you for so much.”

With Pepe acknowledging the love of his bestfriend, Cristiano Ronaldo, the former defender replied on his post. Pepe wrote: 

“We will continue together.”

As Pepe retired from football, it is evident that the world’s favourite Cristiano Ronaldo is also in the last phase of his career. He works day in and day out to be in the best of shape. He is contracted with Al-Nassr till the summer of 2025, with fans hoping for him to continue to play the sport post that. It all depends on the legend himself. 

As of now, Ronaldo has returned to the Saudi club’s pre-season camp. He will be kicking off the Saudi Cup this week. CR7 is still looking for his first major trophy with the SPL team.
