Mancini’s team have won all 10 of their qualifying matches after they failed to make it to Russia for the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Italy have scored 37 goals in 10 matches
The team has been very dangerous in front of goal and have netted 37 goals in 10 matches. Another of their big scoring matches was against Liechtenstein in which they scored six past their opponents. Fabio Quagliarella was instrumental in the win, with a brace to his credit. The defensive abilities of the Azzurris were on display throughout their campaign with just four goals conceded by the team. They have coped up well in the absence of defender Giorgio Chiellini and goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon.

Jorginho has been instrumental for Mancini
Jorginho has been the main man in the midfield for Mancini and the Chelsea star did not fail to impress his boss. He was instrumental in his side’s perfect win record with his dominance in the midfield. The player is ranked the highest with the most passes completed (822) in the qualification campaign. There is a lot of enthusiasm in the Italian camp courtesy of a massive turnaround over the past two years. Mancini has made the most tactical impact for a side which suffered a massive set-back with their failure to qualify for the last World Cup.

Mancini's midfield revamp
Mancini’s midfield revamp has taken place around the trio of Jorginho, Marco Verratti and Nicolo Barella. However, it should be noted that this trio does not hail from any of Italy’s top clubs nor do they play together quite often. Verratti plays for Paris Saint-Germain in France, while Jorginho is at Chelsea. Barella, currently on loan at Inter Milan, earlier played for Cagliari, not one of the country’s traditionally strong clubs. The strong midfield has made a lot of difference for Mancini which ultimately led to a team set-up which does not rely on a particular striker for goals. All in all, Mancini has been successful in turning the team’s fortunes and his efforts will be at display in Euro 2020.
