Sergio Aguero opens up about adapting to City coach Pep Guardiola

Sergio Aguero revealed that he had to force his way back into Manchester City's starting 11 back in 2016 after facing tough competition from Gabriel Jesus.

Many thought the arrival of Gabriel Jesus in 2016 would be the beginning of the end for Manchester City legend Sergio Aguero. The former Atletico Madrid talisman, who has 240+ goals for City, proved everyone wrong as he fought his way back into the starting line-up under Pep Guardiola. In a recent interview with France Football, Sergio Aguero revealed how hard it was for him to force his way back into Pep Guardiola's plans as Manchester City aimed at establishing themselves as a European superpower.

Argentinian forward Sergio Aguero has been a key figure for Manchester City in their bid to build a legacy on home soil and all across Europe. The four-time Premier League winner opened up about how he had to work hard and adapt to Guardiola's methods at the start of his tenure. After Jesus' signing, Aguero forced his way back into the first team and continues to be a regular in the Manchester City line-up.

During the interview, Sergio Aguero added that winning the UEFA Champions League continues to be a major goal for Pep Guardiola and the rest of the Manchester City squad. He maintained that luck will play an important factor this season as teams like Liverpool, PSG, Real Madrid and Barcelona strive for European glory.
