Sergio Ramos concedes strange handball as Real Madrid give away 3 penalties vs Valencia

Real Madrid skipper Sergio Ramos conceded a bizarre handball against Valencia, with his side giving away three spot-kicks to lose the game 4-1.

Spanish giants Real Madrid stumbled in ir LaLiga title defence once again, with a humiliating defeat against Valencia. Los Blancos conceded four times in game, three of which were penalties, despite Karim Benzema bagging opener earlier. As bizarre as scoreline with three penalties kicks appears, more bizarre was skipper Sergio Ramos’ handball to concede one of se spot-kicks away from home.

Benzema bags opener for Real Madrid 

Benzema broke deadlock in 23rd minute of game. Frenchman struck a sensational goal from edge of box to bag lead for Zinedine Zidane. Minutes later, Jose Gaya fired a cross towards penalty box only for Lucas Vaquez to commit a handball resulting into a spot-kick.

Thibaut Courtois went on to produce a spectacular save, followed by Carlos Soler hitting post on  rebound only for Yunush Musah to strike ball past net. But referee decided to consult Video Assistant Referee (VAR) to order a retake after it appeared that Musah had encroached before spot-kick was taken.

Sergio Ramos commits bizarre handball for Real Madrid vs Valencia

Soler did t commit ar mistake this time around and made it level for Valencia. Minutes before end of first half, Real Madrid centre-back Raphael Varane went on to net in his own post while defending a cross. Things did t change for better for Los Blancos in second half with Marcelo bringing down Maximilia Gomez to concede a second spot-kick of game, with Soler bagging his brace.

Things worsened for Real Madrid when Ramos committed a bizarre handball in penalty box while defending against Musah. skipper was seen budging ball away from Valencia forward with his arm. Soler went on to bag his third of night, all of which came from spot-kicks.

Real Madrid slip fourth in LaLiga standings 

Following embarrassing defeat, Zidane's men slip down fourth spot on  LaLiga standings with 16 points to ir credit. Meanwhile, Real Sociedad lead league charts having mand 20 points in nine games. Bernabeu outfit head into international break and will play Villarreal on return to club football.
