Indian football captain Sunil Chhetri’s Tweet:
The Indian Captain could not be part of the team as he was bedridden with a high fever and was declared unfit to play. It was Gurpreet Singh Sandhu who stepped up to the occasion, after being named interim captain against Qatar. Gurpreet Singh Sandhu’s heroic saves and performance prevented India from suffering another defeat and kept the team’s hopes of qualifying for the 2022 Qatar World Cup alive. Right-winger Udanta Singh came close to pulling off a goal against the reigning Asian Cup Champions, falling just short of a successful attempt. The Indian team did exceedingly well and managed to keep their composure to earn this historic draw.
