Tottenham Hotspur signs Timo Werner on loan
Tottenham Hotspur, who has had a spell of ups and downs in the current EPL season of 2023/24, has received a huge boost in the form of an incoming goal-scorer. In the summer transfer window, the club lost its captain and premier forward, Harry Kane. While it would be a huge task to fill the shoes of Kane, the club is evidently making efforts to compensate his goal-scoring prowess by bringing in prudent recruits.
Timo Werner carries the play-making and scoring ability that the Spurs needs at this moment in time. He could affect the game and could prove to be a vital factor at some clutch situations. His inclusion was also necessary on the account that Alejo Veliz is recuperating from a knee injury and Heung-Min Son is absent from the squad due to national duty.
As per reports, Tottenham will cover 100% of Timo Werner's salary until June as part of the agreement with RB Leipzig.
Timo Werner's stay with Chelsea
Werner scored 10 times in 56 Premier League appearances during his stay at Stamford Bridge, a record that fell short of expectations given his expected goals (xG) statistics. His performance contrasted sharply with his previous Bundesliga career, in which he scored 102 goals in 257 games and won 112 games with his sides.
