Mbappe the youngest to score 15 UCL goals

Kylian Mbappe came off the bench to grab a second-half hat-trick and inspire Paris Saint-Germain to a 5-0 victory away. Mbappe also became the fifth-youngest player with a hat-trick in Champions League history at 20 years, 306 days and the fourth substitute to score three goals in a UCL game. With his first goal, the France international also became the youngest player to score 15 career UEFA Champions League goals, eclipsing the record set by Barcelona star Lionel Messi. Messi was 21 years and 289 days old when he scored his 15th UCL goal in a 4-0 quarter-final first-leg win over Bayern Munich in April 2009.

Icardi's form continues

Mauro Icardi opened the scoring for PSG just seven minutes into the game at the Jan Breydel Stadium and made it five goals in four matches after being set up by Mbappe in the second half. The French international headed the second goal for the team on the 61st minute, driving them towards a perfect start. Then, he set up Icardi two minutes later after a defensive slip. Krepin Diatta had a goal ruled out for handball soon after and a bad day turned worse for Brugge as they could not come back into the match.

Mbappe scored his second for the night at the 79th minute, with the forward firing past goalkeeper Simon Mignolet, who had denied Angel Di Maria once. The 20-year-old completed his hat-trick four minutes later, to become the quickest player to score a hat-trick as a substitute in the Champions League. Mbappe was deservedly declared the Player of the match for his magnificent display. Club Brugge have two points from their three group games and go to Paris for their next Champions League match on November 6, 2019.
