Giovani Le Celso is set to be back for Tottenham Hotspur's UEFA Champions League clash at home against Red Star Belgrade on Tuesday. Le Celso and Ryan Sessegnon haven’t started for Spurs since joining in the summer. British media reports claim that Le Celso has resumed training with the team.

Hip Injury
The Argentine midfielder is in contention for his first appearance after being out for two months due to a hip injury, giving Spurs a huge boost in their attempt to claim their first win in Group B. Le Celso came on as a substitute in a few games but hurt his hip in the previous international break. He made three substitute appearances earlier in the season against Manchester City, Newcastle and Arsenal. The attacking midfielder could provide the team with more attacking impetus.

Le Celso, a summer loan signing from Real Betis, returned to training last week along with Ryan Sessegnon. Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed that one of the two players would be ready for the Champions League match. The Spurs have endured a difficult Champions League campaign this season. The Premier League would want to turn things around with their clash against Red Star Belgrade on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at 12.30 am (IST).

Tottenham's hopes of reaching the knockout stages will be all but over if they lose to Red Star Belgrade. They are currently on one point after two games in Group B and would fall five points behind Red Star if they are beaten. Spurs created unwanted history by losing their previous UEFA Champions League match 7-2 at home to Bayern Munich, the first time an English team has lost by five goals in a home European match in any competition. Hence, the return of Le Celso will prove to be a major boost for Spurs.
