According to British media reports, Eriksen was a part of the club's training after missing the draw against Watford. The Dane returned from national duty after suffering from a leg injury and some of his creativity was missed in the Premier League. In his 8 Premier League matches, Eriksen has scored one goal along with an assist. In the Champions League, he has played 114 minutes of the possible 180 minutes, without any goal to his credit. It will be interesting to see if Eriksen is handed a start on Wednesday as they need to win this match to avoid playing in the Europa League. It is believed that Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino would be willing to bring on the Dane as a substitute. Tottenham have been poor this season and even Pochettino’s changes aren’t working all that well.

Tottenham reached the Champions League final last season. However, they were beaten by Liverpool, but their hopes of getting to the knockout stages of this year's edition will be all but over if they lose to Red Star Belgrade. Mauricio Pochettino's side are currently on one point after two games and a defeat would leave them five points behind the Serbian champions.

Bad start for the Spurs
Tottenham have endured a poor start to the season mainly due to lack of confidence and few injuries, having won just three of their 12 games. Tottenham were held to a 1-1 draw by Watford on October 19, 2019, with Dele Alli scoring a late equaliser. Their last outing in the Champions League ended with a 7-2 defeat at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to Bayern Munich. Pochettino believes that the pressure on Spurs has been greater because of their Champions League run last season.
