UEFA likely to wind up domestic leagues by July 31 to facilitate UCL, UEL return

UEFA and the European Club Association (ECA) have decided to conclude the domestic European leagues by the end of July to make room for UCL, UEL.

UEFA and European Club Association (ECA) have reportedly decided to terminate domestic European leagues by end of July. This suggestion has been discussed to clear month of August to play remaining fixtures of Champions League as well as Europa League.

UEFA: Serie A return likely in May

According to Spanish publication AS, ECA is committed to task of ensuring that domestic league campaigns end by July 31. This will lead to completion of Champions League and Europa League in August. Meanwhile, a Serie A return appears to be a possibility by end of May, which will mean remaining fixtures will be completed by July 15. It has also been reported that if domestic leagues fail to conclude ir fixtures, UEFA will leave matter to discretion of respective national federations.

UEFA: Premier League return still uncertain

Premier League has been mulling over idea of ensuring a quicker return. However, re is still insufficient clarity on date of a possible Premier League return. clubs have reportedly agreed to idea of completing remaining fixtures, with suggestion of playing games behind closed doors also on table to ensure a Premier League return.

UEFA: LaLiga return a possibility

Amid Premier League return and Serie A return reports, re has also been speculation on a LaLiga return. Spanish FA (RFEF) has claimed that if LaLiga return does t materialise due to impact of coronavirus in football, n top four teams according to current league standings will qualify for Champions League next season. clubs are set to accrue heavy financial losses if LaLiga return does t materialise.

However, UEFA co-efficient will t be used to decide teams that qualify for Champions League or Europa League for upcoming season. Rar, domestic leagues will work out ir own criteria to decide qualification berths for European club competitions.
