Did UEFA change TOTY formation to squeeze in Cristiano Ronaldo despite lesser votes?

UEFA released the Team of the Year, inviting criticism surrounding the same with allegations that they tried to accomodate Cristiano Ronaldo in 4-2-4 formation.

UEFA h recently released Team of Year list for 2019, but t without controversy. UEFA Team of Year for 2019 included likes of Barcelona forward Lionel Messi, Liverpool's Sio Mane and Juventus superstar Cristia Ronaldo, however, reports suggest orwise. It is reported that Cristia Ronaldo was included later in team by UEFA, inviting criticism.

Did UEFA opt for 4-2-4 formation to accommodate Cristia Ronaldo?

According to reports in Daily Mail, Cristia Ronaldo h missed out on 2019 UEFA Team of Year as he received lesser votes from fans than or players. However, it is w believed that UEFA rigged Team of Year to accommodate Juventus star. UEFA decided to opt 4-2-4 formation, with Lionel Messi, Sio Mane, Robert Lewandowski and Cristia Ronaldo as forwards.

UEFA TOTY: 4-2-4 formation is used very rarely by UEFA

It is to be ted that 4-2-4 is used very rarely and was t used anytime recently. In 2017, UEFA h opted for 4-4-2 formation, followed by 4-3-3 in 2018. According to Daily Mail, 4-2-4 formation was selected to ensure that Cristia Ronaldo did t miss out on team. Or players included in UEFA Team of Year include Alisson Becker, Trent Alexander-Arld, Virgil van Dijk, Andrew Robertson, Matthijs de Ligt, Frenkie de Jong along with Manchester City star Kevin de Bruyne.

However, a UEFA official has given clarification on issue stating that 4-2-4 formation was used to accommodate Cristia Ronaldo due to his exploits in UEFA Nations League which Portugal h won against Nerlands last summer.

Cristia Ronaldo was crowned as Serie A's Most Valuable Player

Cristia Ronaldo has seen a decline in his goal-scoring numbers since past season. Portuguese forward scored 28 goals in 43 appearances while bagging 10 assists as well in previous season. He won Serie A with Juventus, while also being crowned as Most Valuable Serie A player of year. However, he lost out against Lionel Messi for 2019 Ballon d’Or award.
