Xavi confirms Ousmane Dembele's decision to join PSG: 'It is a pity, it tastes bad'
FC Barcelona manager Xavi confirmed winger Ousmane Dembele is on the verge of switching allegiance to Paris Saint-Germain in this summer.

Ousmane Dembele could be on the verge of ending his Barcelona career as the player has reportedly agreed a move to Paris Saint-Germain. The French club reportedly offered a five-year contract to the player and negotiations have been pretty positive as things stand. PSG triggered the £43 million release clause and have until Sunday to complete the deal. Dembele was one of the most expensive players on Barcelona's books as they splashed a whopping £135.5 million to acquire his service from Borussia Dortmund in 2017.

Ousmane Dembele has been a part of Barcelona's pre-season
Dembele had a productive season at Camp Nou having been involved in 17 goals in all competitions last season. Despite his rumoured link up with the French giant, Dembele netted the first goal against Real Madrid in the pre-season fixtures but he was left on the bench as the Catalans ended their USA tour on a high with a slender 1-0 win over AC Milan.
Xavi criticises Ousmane Dembele's move to PSG
Xavi confirmed after the match that the French superstar wished to leave the club as he has a proposal from the Ligue 1 champions. He said to TV3, "that that he has a proposal from PSG, that he wants to go there, [and] today he has not played for that reason." Xavi further blasted Dembele for his decision to leave the Spanish club. "It is a personal decision. It is a pity, [and] it tastes bad to me because we have taken great care of him.

"But he has this proposal and that is why he has not played."

"It is the law of the market, we cannot compete with this proposal, it is beyond our reach."
"I am a bit disappointed, yes.

"But he told us that he already spoke with [PSG manager] Luis Enrique and with [PSG president] Nasser Al-Khelaifi and there was no way to convince him."
Neymar also went on to join PSG in one of the most hyped transfers in football history and Dembele could soon follow suit.
