LA Galaxy are facing a conundrum of sorts with the mercurial Swedish striker. With Ibrahimovic occupying a Designated Player spot at the club, it will be difficult for LA Galaxy to opt for the transfer of Cristian Pavon from Boca Juniors. Pavon is currently on loan with LA Galaxy, but the terms of the loan give the MLS club an option to buy the Argentinian in 2020. Interestingly, Ibrahimovic currently draws the highest salary in the MLS with the LA Galaxy top brass paying him a cool $7.2 million this season.
LA Galaxy head coach Guillermo Barros Schelotto said that the club are a little unclear on Zlatan Ibrahimovic's situation at the moment. He did, however, say that the MLS club would not proceed with planning for next season without sitting down with Ibrahimovic first. Zlatan Ibrahimovic has scored 52 goals in 56 games for LA Galaxy in addition to 17 assists during the period.
