Belgian Grand Prix Mayhem: George Russell Holds Off Lewis Hamilton In Final Lap Chaos To Win Spa
George Russell won the Belgian Grand Prix 2024 but chaos ensued in the final lap of the race as he had to hold off Lewis Hamilton who was ever so close to win.

George Russell is a Belgian Grand Prix winner as he beat teammate Lewis Hamilton and prevented an overtake from the seven time Grand Prix winner in an incredible final lap of the race. George Russell won Spa in a dramatic final which saw the top 3 of Russell, Lewis Hamilton and McLaren's Oscar Piastri seperated by only 1 seconds.
George Russell started 6th in the Belgian Grand Prix but a solid pit stop and intense race action meant that he came out on top at the end. Lewis Hamilton looked like he would pull off the overtake over Russell, but some excellent defence by George meant that he had to settle for second. A day which started trickily for Mercedes ended in a 1-2 finish as they continue their rise in the Constructors Championship heading into the summer break.

George Russell and Lewis Hamilton's Final Lap Mayhem
George Russell was leading the race entering into the final lap, however, Lewis Hamilton was the faster car and the faster driver. As it turned out, Lewis Hamilton started challenging George Russell and was in touching distance.
As Lewis came inside the DRS range, George Russell pulled out incredible racing chops as he continued to thwart off Lewis' attack in a chaotic end to Belgian GP.

Things got even trickier when McLaren's Oscar Piastri closed in on the action as well. For a moment it felt like McLaren driver could pip both the Britons however, he wasn't able to come close enough.

Oscar Piastri's unbelievable overtake on Charles Leclerc
Oscar Piastri who became a Grand Prix winner last week carried on his amazing form in Spa as well to finish on the Podium. But that Podium finish did not come easily as he had to pull off an excellent overtake on Charles Leclerc to seal the deal.

A Mercedes 1-2 and McLaren Podium finish means that Red Bull's title charge in the Constructors Championship is well and truly in danger.
