Liam Lawson Opens Up On Advice Daniel Ricciardo Gave Him When Aussie Was Replaced By Lawson
Liam Lawson opened up about the advice Daniel Ricciardo gave him following the Aussie's exit from the sport.

Liam Lawson was brought in as the replacement for Daniel Ricciardo at Red Bull's junior team VCARB after the Aussie driving had a bad season with the team. Daniel Ricciardo had been struggling for quite a while in Formula One ever since he left Red Bull Racing. He had unsuccessful stints at McLaren and Renault after leaving Red Bull and was eventually picked as a driver for Red Bull's junior team VCARB. Now that Ricciardo has been removed from his seat at VCARB he will be replaced by Liam Lawson.
Liam Lawson recently opened up on the advice Daniel Ricciardo gave him as he replaced the Aussie driver.

‘You need to make the most of it’- Daniel Ricciardo To Liam Lawson
After the Singapore Grand Prix was concluded, the announcement was made that Daniel Ricciardo will be removed from his seat and youngster Liam Lawson will be given a shot. Lawson opened up about how he felt during the time and what advice Ricciardo gave him.
“Not good, honestly. Singapore was definitely not an enjoyable weekend for me, just because obviously we all knew what was sort of coming.

“At the same time, Daniel has always been very good to me, in a lot of ways when I drove last year and then even this season. I’ve never felt in competition with him or anything like that, never made it feel like that.

“It wasn’t a nice feeling, but obviously this, for me, is… I get one shot at F1 and it’s come now and I’m obviously grateful for that opportunity, but I now need to take it with both hands. At the same time, he’s said the same thing to me, and he said, ‘You need to make the most of it’,” said Lawson as he replaced Ricciardo.
Nothing But Respect For Ricciardo
Liam Lawson has nothing but respect for Daniel Ricciardo as the youngster replaced him. Lawson praised Ricciardo for the performance the outgoing driver gave during the Singapore Grand Prix.

“He did a very good job on the weekend, honestly. I have a huge amount of respect for how he dealt with everything.
“I can’t really imagine what that… It’s a similar position I was in last year, but obviously the guy is a lot more public and famous than I am, so he’s getting a lot of questions, and trying to sidestep those he did a very good job at,” stated Liam Lawson while talking to the press.
