Lewis Hamilton Breaks Down Inconsolably After Ending 3 Years Of Frustration To Win F1 Race

Lewis Hamilton has done it, after three years of agony and frustrations, three years of waiting, ‘Sir Lewis’ is back on the top step of the podium as he fended off challenge from Red Bull's Max Verstappen and McLaren's Lando Norris to win his home British Grand Prix 2024 at Silverstone Circuit. 

Lewis Hamilton racing in his final British Grand Prix with Mercedes made it a fairytale ending at his home race at Silverstone as he became the first driver in F1 history to win nine races at a single circuit. Doubts were creeping in and he wondered whether it would ever come for Hamilton as he hadn't won in F1 since Jeddah 2021. 

But when it arrived, Lewis Hamilton couldn't control himself as he teared up inside the cockpit at team radio and then teared up with his father after the race.

Not a dry eye in house as Lewis Hamilton Wins British Grand Prix 

As soon as Lewis Hamilton took the lead of the Grand Prix there was a huge cheer from the crowd at Silverstone as after three years they could see their F1 hero back on the top step of Podium.

Lewis Hamilton could not fight back his tears and cried inconsolably hugging his dad. When Lewis Hamilton took to the post race podium interview, he couldn't even speak properly due to all the emotion. 

“I can’t stop crying. Since 2021, every day getting up trying to fight, to train, to put my mind to the task. This is my last race here at the British Grand Prix with this team so, I wanted to win this so much for them because I love them. I appreciate them so much. I’m forever grateful to everyone at Mercedes. There’s no greater feeling than to finish at the front here,” said Lewis Hamilton. 

Lewis Hamilton admitted that he had a lot of doubts over whether he could bounce back at top or not since not winning for the three years. Lewis hadn't been this emotional in F1 admitted that he could not stop crying since the win.
