'Team Deserves Better': Lewis Hamilton Gives Brutal Mercedes F1 Take After Poor Italian GP Quali
Lewis Hamilton gave a brutally honest take on his performance at Italian GP after missing out on pole position in qualifying.

The Italian Grand Prix 2024 qualifying in Monza saw McLaren dominate once again as Lando Norris raced to Pole position and Oscar Piastri came in at 2nd to confirm a front row lockout for the Papaya outfit.
McLaren's closest competitor were Mercedes on the night and driver Lewis Hamilton had a chance for pole position but failed to convert and had to settle for P6. Speaking post qualifying, Lewis Hamilton made a bold claim about him and his performances with the team.

Lewis Hamilton reflects on poor qualifying
Lewis Hamilton's qualifying was going really well as Mercedes did seem to have pace to challenge McLaren for the pole position. Lewis Hamilton was flying on Q2 as he went into Q3 in the first place.
However, a disappointing showing in Q3 meant Lewis Hamilton qualified only P6 in his final race at Monza for the Silver Arrows. To add to Lewis' frustrations, his teammate George Russell qualified P3.

Reflecting on his qualifying, Lewis Hamilton said that he messed up the qualifying for his team and they deserve much better.
"I’m furious. I could’ve been pole…I just couldn’t do the job at the end. The team deserves better, maybe they’ll get that with Kimi,” said Lewis Hamilton.

Mercedes announced the signing of Kimi Antonelli in the morning of qualifying as the seven time world champion will be ending his legendary partnership with the Silver Arrows at the end of 2024 and go on to join Ferrari from 2025.
