Max Verstappen Silenced By Engineer After Red Bull Driver Collided With Lewis Hamilton At Hungary GP

It just wasn't the day for Red Bull and Max Verstappen. The Dutchman cut out a frustrated figure as Red Bull's strategy calls put him 5th after the final pit stop. Yet he was going fine as went past Ferrari's Charles Leclerc in the final laps. He was looking to get inside the podium sphere but in lap 63 he attempted to dive up the inside of Turn 1, but overcooked his braking and his rear-left collided with the front-right of Lewis Hamilton. The clash put him off the rails as he finished 5th, behind Le Clearc, who leapfrogged him at 4th. Verstappen's dry run extends to three races now.

Max Verstappen Argues, gets called 'childish'

After missing out on a podium finish, Max Verstappen got into a back-and-forth with his race enginner, who even labelled his demeanour "childish".

Max: "He (Hamilton) moved under braking!"

GP: "I'm not even gonna get in a radio fight with the other teams Max, we'll let the stewards do their thing.. It's childish on the radio, childish.”

Oscar Paistri is finally a Grand Prix champion

Oscar Piastri won his first Formula One race after completing a McLaren one-two with Lando Norris at the Hungarian Grand Prix on Sunday.

The 23-year-old Australian driver started second behind pole-sitting Norris and beat him to the first turn to take the lead. Norris got ahead after a pit-stop strategy that favored him, but he then finally complied with a request by his team to give the lead back to his partner.

“This is the day I dreamed off, standing on the top step of an F1 podium,” Piastri said.

Lewis Hamilton finished third behind the papaya-colored pair for his record-extending 200th career podium.

Points leader Max Verstappen finished fifth behind Charles Leclerc in a Ferrari and has now gone three races without a victory. Verstappen leads the standings with 265 points to Norris’ 189.

McLaren celebrated the one-two, but the huge victory will also be remembered for the team debate over which driver would finally come out on top.
