Sergio Perez Opens Up About Red Bull Issues, Claims Verstappen In The Same Boat As Him

Red Bull Formula One driver Sergio Perez has opened up about the issues Red Bull faces with their car as a massive drop in performance has put them in a difficult situation. Currently, due to the ongoing issues at Red Bull, the team is on the brink of losing their Constructors Championship crown to McLaren who have gotten everything right with their car and closed down the gap to Red Bull to just 3 points. Sergio Perez has been having a terrible season for Red Bull as he has not been on the podium ever since the Chinese Grand Prix. 

In the last 10 races, Perez has managed to finish in the top 6 only once. 

Perez Claims Verstappen Now Faces Same Problems 

Sergio Perez has stated that his team member Max Verstappen now faces the same problems that Sergio Perez has been facing for a while now. He stated that Verstappen is now in the same boat that Perez has been in for the past 10 races. 

“I really feel like I’m in the same boat as I’ve been in for the last eight, 10 races but now all of a sudden Max has come into similar issues so yeah, a little bit of a confusion there but it is clear in the data where the problem is.

“I am very confident the team here at track and back at home have the solution, we have produced great cars in the past and there is no reason why we cannot get back on track.

“We have no questions now, we know the problem. Given it is all related to balance, if we can find a fix then we can switch it around but for now, it’s head down until we find the answer." 

Sergio Perez had an uneventful Italian Grand Prix as he started on P8 and finished the race on P8. 

Big Problems For Red Bull 

Red Bull needs to fix the issues within their car quickly as McLaren is catching up to them in both the Drivers Championship and Constructors Championship. McLaren have established their own dominance in the place of Red Bull. They have closed down the gap to Red Bull in the Constructors Championship down to 8 points and Lando Norris has covered the gap to Max Verstappen and is now only behind him by 62 points.

If Red Bull is not able to fix the problems plaguing their car, they are at risk of losing both Championships.
