Formula One postpones Dutch and Spanish GP, cancels Monaco GP races

More than 10,000 people have died due to Coronavirus. The virus has infected around 2,45,000 people and has spread to more than 100 countries around the world.

Organisers of Formula One have anunced that  Dutch and Spanish Grand Prix have been postponed and Monaco Grand Prix has been cancelled due to global spre of Coronavirus.

More races postponed 

A statement re, "Formula 1, FIA and three promoters have taken se decisions in order to ensure health and safety of travelling staff, championship participants and fans, which remains our primary concern. Formula 1 and FIA continue to work closely with affected promoters and local authorities to monitor situation and take appropriate amount of time to study viability of potential alternative dates for each Grand Prix later in year should situation improve."

developments mean that 2020 season of racing is will begin only in June.

inaugural race of season, Australian Grand Prix was cancelled last week due to virus. 

So far, Australian and Monaco GP have been cancelled with Bahrain, Vietnam, Chinese, Dutch and Spanish GPs being postponed.

next possible race will be Azerbaijan Grand Prix on June 7.

"Formula 1 and FIA expect to begin 2020 Championship season as soon as it’s safe to do so after May and will continue to regularly monitor ongoing COVID-19 situation."

RE: Chinese Grand Prix Postponed By Organisers Amidst Coronavirus Fears

In a separate anuncement, organisers also anunced that all concerned authorities and teams have agreed to delay introduction of 2021 technical regulations by a year to 2022. postponement will decrease financial burden on teams. “All parties furr discussed current situation of 2020 championship and how sport will react to ongoing challenges caused by COVID-19 pandemic,” said FIA in a statement.
