Formula One chairman Chase Carey said that he "fully expects" 2020 season to start this summer with a revised calendar of "15-18 races" despite a raft of postponements due to coronavirus pandemic. Azerbaijan Grand Prix earlier on Monday became eighth race to be delayed due to COVID-19 outbreak. But Carey insisted that season would go ahe, although mitted that it was still impossible to kw exactly what schedule will look like.

"We and our partners fully expect season to start at some point this summer, with a revised calendar of between 15-18 races," Carey said in a statement.

"It is t possible to provide a more specific calendar w due to fluidity of current situation but we expect to gain clearer insights to situation in each of our host countries, as well as issues related to travel to se countries, in coming month."
So far, Grand Prix races scheduled for Bahrain, Vietnam, China, Nerlands and Spain have also been postponed while iconic Riviera showpiece in Monaco and season-opening Australian race were cancelled. Carey said sport plans to race during usual summer break and mitted that campaign could finish after scheduled final day in vember. new season will t start until at least June 14 with Cana GP in Montreal.
