Mitchell Marsh on David Warner's No. 3 batting position in Australia vs Netherlands
In a hilarious revelation, Mitchell Marsh said that David Warner doesn't seem all that excited about batting at number three, especially because Travis Head will soon be back for the 2023 World Cup match against the Netherlands. However, Marsh made it plain that he is up for the task of starting at number three in the batting order.
Head will play his first game in the 2023 World Cup on Wednesday against the Netherlands in Delhi. With Warner at the top of the order, the left-handed opener will make up for missing the first four games of the ODI series in South Africa in September because of a wrist injury.

At a pregame news conference on Tuesday, Marsh revealed Warner's reluctance to go to the No. 3 spot but also stated that, given his prior success as an opener, he was willing to assume that job. According to ESPN Cricinfo, he said:
“I mentioned to David Warner, maybe he can bat three, but I got a firm no from him. But yeah, very happy to go back down to three. I've obviously batted there a lot over the last couple of years, so I feel really comfortable at three. And if and when Heady comes back in, I think that's the best position for me to play for this team,”
