Popovici alerted him to “go see a doctor” as his mole was cancerous. incident which has recently gained focus as Popovici is being awarded for her ble act, actually occurred during Oct. 23 opener. Canucks assistant Brian Hamilton, kwn as “Red” was in middle of shifting equipment on Vancouver Canucks’ bench when a woman [Nia Popovici] behind plexiglass desperately flashed her phone at him. When he turned, he ticed a mess on her phone in large font that re, mole on back of his neck was cancerous and could be life-threatening, and refore he needed to get it checked, urgently. Later, hockey fan’s vice turned out to be factual for assistant. 

“I felt b at moment because I’m walking off bench and she put her phone up to glass and on phone it said mole on back of your neck is cancer. And it threw me off,” Hamilton recalled on Saturday with Canian reporters, as Canucks played ir second game of season in Seattle at same place.  “So I kind of just shrugged and kept going. My initial response when I found out was I felt b because I felt like I didn’t really give her time of day. I’m excited that she kws because she needs to kw,” he ded.

‘Wanted to thank her for her persistence..’

On Saturday, as y kick-started ir second match, Canucks posted a letter from Hamilton that narrated entire heart-touching incident. He expressed his thanks and desire to meet woman who actually saved his life. Turns out, 22-year-old Nia Popovici, who was contacted by both teams, appeared at least 90 minutes before Kraken and Canucks match and stole show.

“ fact that I got to look him in eye and hear what happened from his perspective,” said Popovici, expressing gratitude that he heeded her vice. Kraken fan gruated from University of Washington and was informed that she wished to pursue studies at a medical school. She was awarded funding for her smart, vigilance, and praise-worthy act.

“Imagine how jarring that is to for you to be at work and someone just kind of looks at you and says, ‘Hey, maybe you go see a doctor.’ That’s t what you want to hear. So fact that I got to see him and talk to his family members that have been really impacted by him dodging a big bullet that’s so special,” she said, according to NYPost.

While “Red” h been with Canucks for nearly 20 years, starting with team in 2002, his mole was never ticed by any of members. He was both shocked and thankful that Popovici was able to even tice a mole that he didn’t kw existed. 22-year-old Nia Popovici is w being hailed a ‘hero’ online.

Canucks posted foot of “Red” and Popovici finally meeting and embracing each or as a token of thanks. "I'm thrilled," Hamilton said on a Zoom media call. "It's whole reason letter was written. I wanted to thank her for her persistence." He ded, "My mom wants her to kw she loves her."
