Hockey India announces 22-member squad for National Coaching Camp

Ahead of the FIH Olympic Qualifiers, Indian Hockey announced a 22-member squad for the National Coaching Camp. India will play against Russia in the qualifiers.

Ahe of upcoming FIH Olympic Qualifiers in October-vember, on Sunday, Hockey India anunced a 22-member squ for National Coaching Camp in Bhubaneshwar, Odisha. After a successful outing in Belgium, where team won all games y played, India are high on confidence and eye to win both games in qualifying matches. India will play Russia on vember 1 and vember 2 as a part of qualifiers for 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

India's successful tour of Belgium

National Coaching Camp is scheduled to begin on October 14 at Kalinga Stium in Bhubaneswar with Chief Coach Graham Reid looking directly over players. After beating Belgium thrice and registering two wins over Spain, Coach Reid said that re were a lot of takeaways from tour of Belgium. "I think wins in Belgium will surely boost morale of team and will also contribute towards qualifiers against Russia," he said. "re were a lot of takeaways from tour and I am confident that team is rey to play against Russia," he ded. Coach Graham Reid furr ded that team showed good intensity and scored field goals as well as penalty corners which shows how good tour was. "Matches against quality teams like Spain and Belgium help you get confidence needed for such matches like qualifier against Russia. Coaching Camp will focus more on keeping momentum and getting used to conditions in Bhubaneswar."

PR Sreejesh, Krishan Bahur Pathak, Harmanpreet Singh, Varun Kumar, Surender Kumar, Birendra Lakra, Rupinder Pal Singh, Gurinder Singh, Amit Rohidas, Kothajit Singh, Manpreet Singh, Hardik Singh, Nilakanta Sharma, Vivek Sagar Pras, Simranjeet Singh, Akashdeep Singh, Ramandeep Singh, SV Sunil, Mandeep Singh, Lalit Kumar Uphyay, Gursahibjit Singh, Shamsher Singh. FIH Olympic Qualifiers will take place on vember 1 and 2 at Kalinga Stium in Bhubaneswar.
