Hailing India's stey progress in past one year, national hockey team captain Manpreet Singh on Monday said upcoming Pro League will test team's consistency against best in world ahe of Tokyo Olympics next year.

'We have a good pool of players who can be furr tested ':  Manpreet Singh

"I think team has grown steily in this past year with a number of youngsters getting very good international exposure. We have a good pool of players who can be furr tested during Hockey Pro League. Although we have maintained our world ranking at .5, our consistency will be put to test during Hockey Pro League where we play top teams like Nerlands, Belgium, and Australia in first three months of season," Manpreet said during India's ongoing national coaching camp in Bhubaneshwar.

Manpreet on World Cup returning to Kalinga Stium

Manpreet expressed excitement about World Cup hockey returning to Kalinga Stium. "re is doubt that Kalinga stium is one of world's best venues we have ever played in. It's t only Indian team who enjoy playing here but or teams like Belgium and Nerlands too enjoy crowds, atmosphere and infrastructure here. It is first time that India will be hosting back-to-back World Cups and it is a matter of great pride for us. It will also be 75 years since Indian Independence in 2023 and it would be incredible if we can d to celebrations by lifting World Cup title."  captain furr said: "This is a great initiative taken up by Odisha Government and Hockey India. Rourkela and its surrounding region have a rich hockey culture with many of my teammates and senior players emerging from re. Hosting a major event like World Cup re will t only boost hockey scene furr, it will also show real hockey belt of Odisha to world."
