The attempt occurred when 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks fired shots at Trump with an AR-style rifle from the rooftop of a nearby manufacturing plant, hitting Trump in the right ear. Secret Service agents swiftly responded, fatally shooting Crooks to prevent further harm.

Explosive devices were later found in Crooks' vehicle near the rally site. Tragically, firefighter Corey Comperatore, 50, lost his life during the incident. The attempt left the nation in shock and raised concerns about security measures at public events involving high-profile figures.
