India Finish As Runner-Up With 223 Medals At The Asian ArmWrestling Cup
The Asian ArmWrestling Cup saw 9 nations compete in six different categories : para, masters, sub junior, junior, youth and seniors in various weight categories

India have bagged runner up position in overall team standings at Asian ArmWrestling Cup 2024, that took place at Aurika Skycity hotel in Mumbai. hosts finished in second place in terms of medal tally, that was only bettered by Kazakhstan, which is number one country in world for Armwrestling.

Some of table winners in Indian contingent were Denic Lalruattluanga from Mizoram , who won Gold in 80kg Right in Men’s Seniors, and Yogesh Chaudhary from Haryana , who bagged Gold in 80kg + Left and Right in Women’s Seniors.
Denic Lalruattluanga went through a rollercoaster of emotions, losing his first match against Kazakh puller Islam Nurmav. However, Mizoram armwrestler still mand to make it to finals, where he once again had to face Islam Nurmav. This time around, Denic was confident that he had found a chink in Kazakh puller’s armour and mand to get better of him in finals. In rematch, that took place because Islam was undefeated till finals, Denic, popularly kwn as 'Strap Man' flash pinned Kazakh puller to win Gold for India.

Yogesh Chaudhary also had a difficult route to glory as she had to battle it out against a strong Kazakh puller, Arailym Kulzhemiyeva. puller from Haryana got better of her opponent in both hands to win Gold medal for her country.
total medal tally for India was 223, including 63 gold medals, 100 silver medals and 60 bronze medals.

holding of Asian ArmWrestling Cup was a big success for People’s ArmWrestling Federation India (PAFI), that is led by President Preeti Jhangiani. y also hold rights to official Asian ArmWrestling Championship for 2025 and truly believe that success of Asian Cup bodes well for International ArmWrestling events taking place in India.

With success of Pro Panja League in 2023 and w Asian ArmWrestling Cup in 2024, we are confident this will lead to a flood of international events in India.”
