JapanVsScotland Rugby World Cup match continues, despite typhoon alert
Japan vs Scotland to go ahead at Rugby World Cup in wake of typhoon Hagibis. The only game canceled Sunday was in Kamaishi stadium due to typhoon's devastation.

After dely devastation by Typhoon Hagibis on Saturday, October 12, a third Rugby World Cup game in Japan was cancelled which was originally scheduled for October 13. Organisers came to decision to ensure safety for tournament host to play Scotland at Yokohama. decision came at 6 AM Japanese local time to cancel last Pool B game between Cana and Namibia, which was set to be played at Kamaishi Recovery Memorial Stium. Japanese authorities have issued an evacuation order in area and re h been landslides and flooding near stium in rastern Japan. Though World Rugby confirmed at 7 AM that U.S.-Tonga game at Hanazo Stium in Osaka and Wales-Uruguay game at Kumamoto are all clear, it took a lot of time to come to decision for crucial Pool A game between Japan and Scotland.

As Typhoon Hagibis me landfall in south of Tokyo killing 7 and with 15 ors missing, earlier two matches on Saturday were cancelled. match was a quarterfinal decider and 40th of matches. Moreover, Scotland also threatened to sue organisers of game that was cancelled as it bly needed a win to reach quarter-final. Japan is in a more favourable position and only needs to avoid defeat to make it to next match. only game cancelled on Sunday was in Kamaishi. This is first time any games have been cancelled at a Rugby World Cup.
"Following extensive discussions with World Rugby, Kamaishi City, and Iwate Prefecture, during which we considered every possibility to make this game happen, we h option but to cancel match to ensure safety of fans, team, volunteers, and all ors involved. It was both a difficult and emotional decision to make, however, I feel it's right decision and firmly believe both domestic and foreign fans will understand decision was me to ensure safety," organizing committee chief executive Akira Shimazu said.

World Rugby speaks on match cancellations
Similarly, World Rugby issued a statement reiterated information given by Akira. organization said that Kamaishi is situated in a highly mountaius area, including mountains directly behind main stand of stium. As re have been landslides and flooding in vicinity of stium and along access ros to venue following torrential rain throughout night, match h to be cancelled. organization also stood for people affected in typhoon.
"Our hearts go out to teams and also ir fans, but also people of Kamaishi, who have been incredible during what has been a special journey in recent years," World Rugby tournament director Alan Gilpin said.
