Minnesota Twins pitcher Kenta Maeda said on Friday he was satisfied with the COVID-19 health and safety rules put in place by Major League Baseball as players prepare for the start of the season later this month.

The Japanese righthander said he had no problems with the rule requiring the wearing of a mask because masks are part of the culture in Japan and he is used to it.

Maeda, who moved to the Twins from the Los Angeles Dodgers in the offseason, said he spent the last few months training in the United States with fellow Japanese player Shogo Akiyama of the Cincinnati Reds.
