After the eliminator matches on Monday, October 14, the semi-finals will take place on Wednesday, October 16. Bengal Warriors and U Mumba will face each other in the semi-final 2, at the EKA Arena by TransStadia, Ahmedabad (20:30 IST). Bengal Warriors, who qualified for the semi-finals directly, are chasing the PKL title for the first time. Bengal Warriors’ raiding unit Maninder Singh, K Prapanjan and Sukesh Hegde have had a successful run this season. However, Maninder Singh, who is still recovering from a shoulder injury, might not be able to play on Wednesday. If Maninder Singh is absent, Bengal Warriors will have to alter their strategies in order to beat U Mumba.

BEN vs MUM: K Prapanjan confident about their semi-final game with U Mumba
In a recent interview, K Prapanjan – who is an integral part of Bengal’s raiding unit – claimed that their team is prepared for the semi-finals against U Mumba. After a good run in the PKL 2019 league stages, their confidence is high. Prapanjan believes that they are ready for the semi-finals with their strategies in place, and are well aware they this is a must-win match. Prapanjan, who also picked up an injury earlier in the season, is sure that he has made full recovery. He hopes to collect crucial raid points, and help the defence during tackles. Prapanjan avoided the ‘lead raider’ title in Maninder’s absence, focusing more towards earning raid points. He thinks that being called a ‘lead raider’ before an important match can have negative consequences, and it important to support each other throughout the game.

Even though Bengal Warriors have played well against U Mumba in their previous PKL 2019 encounters, Prapanjan chooses to concentrate more on the upcoming semi-final as one cannot predict the outcome of a game. Baldev Singh, who has 62 tackle points this season, is Bengal’s top defender. He will be leading Bengal’s defence against U Mumba’s raiding duo – Abhishek Singh and Arjun Deshwal. As the match is only a few hours away, Baldev Singh is also confident about their team’s combination. According to Baldev, Bengal will analyse U Mumba’s weakness and stick to the targets told to them by their coach. As his and Rinku Narwal’s corner combination has been working well, Baldev believes that they could keep U Mumba’s raiders at bay if they receive support from the cover defenders.
