Kevin Durant has reportedly admitted that his heated exchange with Draymond Green was a contributing factor in his decision to leave the Golden State Warriors. The player left the Warriors in free agency this offseason. His altercation with Green took place in November 2018. Durant is now a part of the Brooklyn Nets after signing a reported four-year $164 million deal in free agency with the team.

When Durant was asked about the incident, he said that the decision was a 'little bit' influenced by the incident. He explained himself further and said that one will think about it for some time if a teammate speaks in a way that Green did. He added that they did talk about it, and he has no intention to lie about it.

After around 14 games into the NBA 2018-19 regular season, Green and Durant were spotted exchange words on the sidelines. Their match against the Los Angeles Clippers had gone overtime. Green had reportedly questioned Durant's commitment to the team and brought up the latter's imminent free agency. According to some reports, Green had also used abusive language. Green was suspended for one game, and also apologized to Durant later.  After a rough start to the season, Warriors made it to their fifth consecutive NBA Finals. A few days ago, in a podcast, Green admitted that he apologized to Durant after realising how hurt his former teammate was.
