Union Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju shared a memory of his visit to the 2008 Beijing Olympics on October 7. Rijiju took to Twitter to share a throwback video of him watching the Olympics sports. In the video shared on the Sports Minister's Twitter handle, he can also be seen touring various tourist destinations of China like The Great Wall of China, Bird's Nest Stadium (Beijing) and, The Forbidden City.

Kiren Rijiju as Sports Minister
Kiren Rijiju has taken up many new and innovative initiatives after assuming the office of the Sports Minister of India. On October 5, he hailed the NBA India Games as a 'historic day for sports' as he presented the match ball in the second contest of the pre-season. The Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports also recently launched the 'Plogging Run' under the banner of the Fit India movement.
2020 Tokyo Olympics
The 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan will not just be about games but they will also be promoting the message of sustainable development and climate change. The medals for the event were recently unveiled and it is revealed that the medals will be made from recycled electronic waste, primarily old phones that the Japanese people have disposed of.
