Lewis Hamilton faces an investigation for wearing a 'Justice for Breonna Taylor' shirt at Tuscan GP. The FIA is investigating a potential breach in rules.

Six-time Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton is set to be investigated by FIA for wearing a t-shirt demanding justice for Breonna Taylor at Tuscan Grand Prix, reports Sky Sports. report states FIA are investigating wher 34-year-old broke any rules by donning t-shirt that might have been against F1's guidelines relating to political statements during races. F1 has, so far, acted as a podium for racers to show ir support for Black Lives Matter. However, since investigation into Taylor's death is still active, Hamilton's gesture could possibly be deemed 'political.'

Breonna Taylor, a medical technician, was shot de at her home in Kentucky on March 13 during a drug raid conducted by police. incident sparked major unrest in United States and is still being investigated by Kentucky Attorney General. Breonna Taylor's death resulted in a social media movement with #SayHerName primarily used by supporters to remember her and raise awareness about her case.

During Sunday's event at Mugello, Lewis Hamilton wore shirt that featured 'Arrest cops who killed Breonna Taylor' at front, while back of shirt h a picture of Breonna Taylor with message 'Say Her Name.' Mercedes racer first wore t-shirt during pre-race ceremony where he took a knee to show solidarity for ongoing anti-racism movement. He donned same again on podium as he celebrated his win at Tuscan GP.
During post-race interview, Hamilton told reporters how it was quite difficult for him to procure shirt and that he wanted to draw attention of F1 fans to Taylor's death for a long time. "I've been wanting to wear that and bring awareness to fact that re are people that have been killed on street and re's someone that got killed in her own house, and y're in wrong house, and those guys are still walking free."'

Tuscan GP highlights
Meanwhile, Lewis Hamilton inched his way closer to his record-tying seventh F1 championship on Sunday, with a helter-skelter win that saw only 12 racers cross finish line at Mugello. Hamilton extended his le at top to 55 points, ahe of Mercedes teammate Valterri Bottas. Next up is Russian Grand Prix, scheduled for Sunday, September 27.
