Recently hired New York Mets GM Jared Porter admitted to sending unsolicited images to a reporter in 2016 while working with the Chicago Cubs.

New York Mets general manr Jared Porter has ackwledged sending unsolicited sexually explicit ims to a female reporter in 2016. Porter, who was director of pro scouting with Chicago Cubs at time, was anunced as Mets GM only last month. Cubs meanwhile revealed y are t aware of this incident ever being reported to organisation, while Mets have ackwledged and will review situation accordingly.

According to a report by ESPN's Mina Kimes and Jeff Passan, Mets GM Jared Porter struck a text conversation with a female reporter during 2016 postseason, when Cubs were on ir way to winning a World Series. 41-year-old reportedly asked her three times to get a drink before day was over and continued to text her despite reporter rejecting his advances. A day after ir meeting at Yankee Stadium elevator, w Mets GM sent her 17 pictures. ESPN revealed that among 17 Jared Porter texts, 15 ims were of hotels and restaurants, with last two being a picture of a bulge in his pant, while final one was of a bare penis.

Jared Porter responded to ESPN and ackwledged texting woman. 41-year-old had initially denied allegations of him sending any pictures but later revealed that more explicit ones are t of him and were like joke-stock ims. report stated that ESPN first became aware of messs in December 2017 but halted after victim was concerned her career would be harmed. She, however, has w come forward after having ended her career in journalism but has chosen to remain anymous because of any potential repercussions in her home country. She also contacted ESPN through an interpreter that she w wants to "prevent that from happening again" to anybody else.

New York Mets hired Jared Porter in December 2020. He left Chicago Cubs after 2016 season to become Arizona Diamondbacks' assistant general manr. Mets President Sandy Alderson has revealed that he spoke directly to Porter and said that organisation takes matters like se seriously. Alderson revealed that Porter showed remorse for his actions, and Mets will follow up as y review facts regarding this serious issue. Should Porter be sacked, this will t be first time that New York will have to fire a recent hire. Mets had signed Carlos Beltran to become ir manr in vember 2019 but sacked him three months later for his involvement in Houston Astros sign-stealing scandal.
