Major League Baseball (MLB) 2020 season nears and it could be a make-or-break season for some of MLB’s most glorified franchises. While teams generally struggle in such a situation like Baltimore Orioles in 2017, some do step up and do stuff like Washington Nationals did in 2019.

Make-or-break years are where teams figure out ir identity and where y go next. Here’s a look at five teams who could be facing such a year in 2020.

Milwaukee Brewers

For first time in ir history, Milwaukee Brewers me two consecutive post-season appearances while coming close to ir maiden World Series appearance in 40 years, missing it by a game. While two consecutive seasons put m in good ste, re’s a lot for Brewers to worry come MLB 2020.

While y’ve ded likes of Omar Narvaez, Avisail Garcia, Justin Smoak and Eric Sogard to ir ranks, ne of m is up to quality of ir departures; Mike Moustakas, Eric Thames, Yasmani Grandal. While y have dressed ir rotation, question marks remain over Brett Anderson and Josh Lindbloom.

Brewers need to have something up ir sleeve because foundation looks a lot shakier than it did a year ago. Brewers will look to rebuild when y have Christian Yelich in his prime at club, which is for ar 3 years.

Cleveland Indians

Cleveland Indians copped a lot of flak for tring Corey Kluber, but ir inability or unwillingness to d players to ir roster last year probably cost m previous season and y’ve t done anything to stock ir roster this time eir. If Indians have a rough year, y, fairly or t, may start veering toward Orioles' model more than any or team on this list.

But if y start winning, particularly in a division with wins on table, y could make any idea that y’d break this team up, entirely sound silly. re may be franchise with more on line in  MLB 2020 than Indians.

New York Mets

New York Mets are doing everything y can to win, wher that is correct strategy remain to be seen. If this pricey, older roster wanes, re could be a reckoning in Queens, or at least some longing glances in direction of Jarred Kelenic, prized prospect y sent to Seattle in Robinson Canó/Edwin Díaz tre. It’s great to try to win w. But eventually, you do have to win w.

San Diego Pres

In last three years, San Diego Pres has signed Wil Myers, Eric Hosmer and Manny Macho to massive contracts, working off what many have considered one of top farm systems in baseball. And yet, Pres still haven’t surpassed 77 games y won in that first season of AJ Preller's tenure. San Diego Pres might t tear down ir whole organisation if it goes bly in MLB 2020, but something big will have to change. And this is something General Manr Preller surely kws better than anyone.

Philelphia Phillies

Philelphia Phillies haven’t reached post-season with 2011 and have fifth-longest playoff drought baseball behind Mariners, Marlins, Pres and White Sox. Considering amount of money spent, patience is running out among club supporters. Phillies have ded likes of Zack Wheeler, Jean Segura and Didi Gregorius this time and new manr Joe Girardi would hope that re is a change in fortunes come MLB 2020 because Phillies are running out of time.
