American Basketball great Larry Bird is widely regarded as one of finest basketball players of all time. But records are t only thing associated with former Celtics player. Interestingly, Social media giant Twitter’s logo is inspired by legendary player. In fact, logo even has a name: Larry Bird.

Twitter logo named after NBA legend

This information gained traction after Twitter’s platform and API manr Ryan Sarver shared a photo of company’s Creative Director, Doug Bowman, “explaining evolution of Larry Bird logo.” If you look around internet and connect dots, you can understand connection of Twitter’s logo and NBA Legend. Biz Stone, co-founder of Twitter born in 1974, and graduated high school from Boston. During that time, Larry Bird was setting league on fire while playing for Boston Celtics.

Larry Bird was recently seen in Mumbai for NBA India Games. A 6’9” tall stalwart, Bird helped Boston Celtics win three NBA titles in 80s. Bird, along with likes of Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, took game to untouched heights. Larry Bird was also part of USA’s Dream Team in 1992 Barcelona Olympics. Biz Stone, during his teen days, watched Bird soar and score three-pointers for fun. Maybe that’s where inspiration came from.
