San Antonio Spurs brought their A-game against their South-West rivals Houston Rockets to beat them 128-114 on October 17 at the Toyota Center, Houston. The Rockets fell to their second defeat in the pre-season, in a game they looked very disjointed and failed to find any rhythm. We look at the match report and discuss the key moments from the same.

NBA pre-season match report
The Rockets started the game with little to no energy and never got into a rhythm. With the Spurs coming out strong to take a 14 point lead in the first quarter itself. The second quarter, however, saw the Rockets find a bit of momentum as they managed to tie the same with Spurs still maintaining their 14 point lead. The third quarter ended with the Spurs running away with the game before the Rockets finally finding their feet in the fourth quarter. The game, however, ended with 128-114 to the Spurs, in a game where the Rockets failed to find their feet for much of the game.

LaMarcus Aldridge and Dejounte Murray combined to make 19 of 24 shots, with Aldridge scoring 22 points in 22 minutes and Murray 20 in 21 minutes before they sat for the fourth quarter. James Harden led the Rockets with an inspired 40 points and 7 assists but failed to drag his side for much of the game. Russell Westbrook, on the other hand, struggled through much of his home debut. Westbrook seldom saw the court after picking up three personal fouls in the first six minutes of the game. He recorded seven points in the first half and was scoreless on all three of his first-half three-point attempts. Westbrook finished with 14 points, four assists, four rebounds and eight turnovers.

San Antonio Spurs recorded the first win of their pre-season and prepare to take on Miami Heat on Friday. While, Houston Rockets, have a game against the Milwaukee Bucks to get back to their best, before the new NBA season commences on October 23.
