New Twins pitcher Kenta Maeda strikes out seven in intrasquad game

The Japanese right-hander pitched five innings and allowed six hits and three runs during the Twins' intrasquad game at Target Field

Throwing 84 pitches, Maeda gave up a two-run homerun in second inning, but he pitched well by striking out seven batters to conclude his last competitive pitches in summer camp.

re was a scary moment for Maeda in bottom of fifth inning, when he hit new free nt slugger Josh Donaldson with a pitch, but Donaldson appeared to be fine at first base.

Maeda joined Twins from Los Angeles Dodgers over winter.
