NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick had not featured on the big stage for the last three years. Kaepernick, who became an overnight sensation across the globe, when he chose to kneel during the American national anthem in protest to the racial injustice endemic in the US, has been without an NFL franchise since 2016. However, as per recently confirmed reports, the 33-year old has been touted to make a return to the competition this year with NFL organising a special tryout for his services.

NFL: Will Colin Kaepernick actually make it back to the NFL?
If the NFL memo obtained by ESPN is to be believed, the NFL has organised a one-day trial event that will allow all 32 NFL teams to make a bid for Colin Kaepernick if they wish to. The trial will be similar to that of collegiate prospects during the run-up to the NFL draft. The NFL franchises will be permitted to send scouts or request the video footage of Kaepernick's trial to be made available.

During his previous spell in the NFL, Colin Kaepernick completed 59.2% of his passes, averaged 6.8 yards per attempt and threw 16 touchdowns with four interceptions in 12 games for the 49ers during the 2016 campaign. However, he will forever be remembered as the man who refused to stand for the anthem in the name of his principles. Will Colin Kaepernick, indeed, make it back to the NFL? If he does, will he kneel again?
