A remarkable journey for a remarkable cause
According to Nick's website, his journey began when a close friend of his - Kevin Webber - was diagnosed with terminal prostate cancer. In an attempt to raise £250000 for the Prostate Cancer UK foundation, Nick embarked on a journey to run a marathon in every country in the world. He completed his challenge on November 10 when he finished the Athens Marathon and became the first person in the world to have run a marathon in every country.

Besides this, Nick has also actually run 211 marathons to futureproof his records. His current record contains 193 United Nations recognised sovereign unions and three unofficially recognised countries. He was smart about his record as he ran in places that could be recognised in the future as well. For example, he ran in both China and Hong Kong. Among the many figures which have been reported about Nick's entire journey, some are - 201 flights, 45 train journeys, 15 bus journeys and 280 taxis.
