No regrets on Japan move says All Blacks star Barrett despite COVID emergency

All Blacks star Beauden Barrett says he has regrets about his decision to move to Japan even as government weighs imposing a new state of emergency on Tokyo region after a spike in COVID-19 cases.

Barrett was introduced by his new club Suntory Sungoliath on Wednesday and said he is confident Japanese government can handle situation as he begins a lucrative short term contract in country.

29-year-old said he had considered playing in France, but chose Japan because of chance to experience a different culture and for opportunity to get playing time as a . 10 on Suntory.
