The para Javelin star from India has proven himself as one of the best athletes, and he will be put to the test in the French Capital when he defends his gold medal. Before commencing his journey for the 2024 Paralympics, Antil delved into the performance of India's golden boy and Paris Olympics silver medalist, Neeraj Chopra. He also opened up on the advice Chopra shared with him.

Para Javelin star Sumit Antil reveals Neeraj Chopra's advice ahead of the 2024 Paris Paralympics
During an interaction with SAI Media, Sumit Antil opened up on Neeraj Chopra's outing at the 2024 Paris Olympics. The Para-athlete said that Neeraj delivered a season-best performance of 89.45m despite being injured, and it speaks volumes. Antil also revealed the advice he received from Chopra, saying that he should stay cool and not try anything new.
“Neeraj Bhai’s 89.45m throw was a great effort. It was his season’s best, and it came after he was carrying an injury. That says a lot about the man.

“Neeraj Bhai says that I should not try anything new, and just trust my preparation by staying cool and steady,” Sumit Antil said.

Sumit Antil made history after he set the world record three times in the same event. Antil won the gold medal for a throw of 68.55 meters at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics. He went on to break his own record with a 70.83 metre throw at the 2023 Para World Championships. Then, at the Hangzhou Para Asian Games, he broke the record again with his 73.29 metre throw.
This year, Antil will be defending his gold medal, and the pressure will be on him. After India's second-best overall performance at the Paris Olympics with six medals, all eyes will be on the country's contingent at the 2024 Paralympics.

Javelin star Sumit Antil and Shot Put athlete Bhagyashree Yadav will be the flag-bearers for India at the Paralympics opening ceremony, and the games are scheduled from August 28th to September 8th, 2024.
