India surpasses its Tokyo Paralympics medal count, making history with a record-breaking 20 medals at the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris.

Paris Paralympics 2024: With a total of 20 medals—three gold, seven silver, and ten bronze—Indian para-athletes created history in the Paris Paralympics on September 3, 2024. This outstanding accomplishment exceeded India's former high of 19 medals taken at the Tokyo Paralympics three years before. The Indian squad earned 13 medals on Monday and Tuesday alone, therefore raising their overall count to a remarkable 20.
With 19 medals—five gold, eight silver, and six bronze—India ranked first among all the countries at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics (August 24–September 5, 2021).

- With an outstanding performance in the women's 10-meter air rifle final, earning 249.7 points—her personal best—Indian shooter Avani Lekhara guaranteed India's first gold medal in Paris.

- Manish Narwal scored 234.9 points to earn a silver medal in the men's 10m air pistol SH1 event.
- Rubina Francis received bronze in the P2 women's 10-meter air pistol event.

- Thulasimathi Murugesan lost against China's Yang Qiu Xia with scores of 21-17 and 21-10, earning a silver medal in the women's singles SU5.
- Manisha beat Cathrine Rosengren to earn a bronze in the women's singles SU5 with 21-12 and 21-8 scores.
- Lucas Mazur won the gold medal by outplaying Indian Suhas in the men's singles SL4 category.
- Deepthi Jeevenji marked India's 16th medal by adding a bronze in the women's 400-meter T20 final.
- With respective leaps of 1.85 meters and 1.88 meters, Mariyappan Thangavelu grabbed bronze and Sharad Kumar got silver in the men's high jump T6 final. With a 1.94-meter jump to win the gold, USA's Ezra Frech established a Paralympic record.
- In the men's javelin throw F46 Ajeet Singh won silver and Sundar Singh Gurjar won bronze. With a 66.14-meter throw, Guillermo from Cuba won gold medals.
