India at Paris Paralympics Day 1 Highlights: Sheetal Devi Finishes Second in Ranking Round

Women's Indiv Recurve Open Ranking Result:  Pooja Jatyan | 7th | 585 Mixed Team | 5th Pooja Broke her Season Best

She finished 10th at Women's CI-3 3000m Individual Track Qualification and was unable to Qualify for Medal Matches.

Indian shuttler Manisha Ramadass bounced back from a set down to beat France's Maud Lefort 8-21, 21-6, 21-19 in women's singles SU5 Group C Badminton encounter. 

Netherlands have won the first Gold medal at Paralympics 2024 as Caroline Groot triumphed in women's track cycling. 

India's Para Archer, Sheetal Devi shattered the world record in Archery in women's individual compound competition as she scored 703/720 points. The previous record was held by Phoebe Paterson at 698. However, Sheetal Devi's world record was soon broken by Turkey's Oznur Cure with a score of 704. By doing so, Sheetal Devi advances to Round of 32. 

India's Archery campaign in Paralympics is underway with Harvinder Singh finishing 9th with a score of 637 in the men's individual recurve open ranking round

India's Thulasimathi Murugesan triumphed over Italy's Rosa Efomo de Marco in straight sets 21-9, 21-11 in the women's singles SU5 Group A match

In the battle of Indian shuttlers, Nitesh Kumar has beaten Manoj Sarkar 21-13, 18-21, 21-18 in three sets to win men's singles SL3 Group A match.

India's Jyoti Gaderiya has finished 10th in Women's C1-3000m Individual Pursuit Qualifying with a time of 4:53.929. Top 4 cyclists qualify for medal contention. 

Tarun beat Brazilian opponent Rogerio Junior Xavier de Oliveira in straight sets 21-17, 21-19 in their Group D match. 

Indian shuttler Sukant Kadam came back from a set down to win against Malaysia's Mhd Amin Buhranuddin. Sukant lost the first set 21-17 but bounced back to win the second set 21-15 and edged out in the third set 22-20. 

Shuttler Suhas Yathiraj has emerged victorious over Indonesian opponent Hikmat Ramdani in straight sets 21-7, 21-5. Yathiraj picks up his first group win at Paralympics 2024. 

Indian Shuttler Manasi Joshi has lost her Women's Singles SL3 Group Play Stage match against Indonesian opponent Qonitah Syakuroh 21-16, 13-21. 

Aruna Tanwar and Nurcihan Ekinci face off in the women's K44 47kg Round of 16 contest.

Manasi lost the second game against Syakuroh 13-21 and the match has went to a decider zone. 

Mandeep tried to put up a fight, but the Nigerian star overpowered him. Mariam Eniola wins the game (21-8, 21-14)

At 21-8, Mariam Eniola Bolaji has took up the lead. India's Mandeep kaur was struggling to fight back. Now, we are into game two!

Manasi Joshi won the first game 21-16 Indonesia's Qontiah Ikhitar Syakuroh put up a fight, but  Joshi pulled off a strong comeback.

Manasi Joshi and Mandeep K are now in action at the Women's Singles SL3 Group Play Stage. 

Sivarajan Solaimalai and Nithya Sre Sivan lose to American duo Miles Krajewski and Jayci Simon in their Mixed Doubles SH6 group opener.

Sivarajan Solaimalai and Nithya Sre Sumathy Sivan's fighting spirit was insufficient to defeat Miles Krajewski and Jayci Simon of the United States, who won the first game 23-21.

Para-badminton will open India's Day 1 at the Olympics as Manasi Girishchandra, Manoj Sarkar, Mandeep Kaur & More will be in action at 12:00 PM IST.
