PM Modi Commends Preeti Pal's Victory at Paralympics, Calls Her Medal Win 'A Historic Achievement'

India has been showing out at the ongoing Parris Paralympics, and para-athlete Preeti Pal is one of the big reasons. The Indian track and field star has secured not just one, but two medals in the same event with her spectacular performance. Preeti bagged the country's first Athletics medal in the Paralympics, and her bronze-winning performance has garnered applause. PM Modi also expressed his delight over Preeti's achievements over social media as he congratulated the Para-athlete on her achievement.

PM Modi Congratulates Preeti Pal on Her Historic Bronze Win at Paris Paralympics

Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, took to the social media platform 'X', Formerly Twitter, to congratulate para-athlete Preeti Pal after she won a bronze medal in the women's 200m T35 category. The 23-year-old secured two back-to-back bronze medals in a single Paralympic event, a historic second for India. Preeti's second bronze win was India's second para-athletics medal in the 2024 Paralympics. PM Modi expressed his thoughts by congratulating Preeti and calling her a true inspiration for the people of the country. The PM also hailed his medal win as a historic achievement.

"A historic achievement by Preeti Pal, as she wins her second medal in the same edition of the #Paralympics2024 with a Bronze in the Women’s 200m T35 event! She is an inspiration for the people of India. Her dedication is truly remarkable," PM Modi tweeted on 'X', formerly Twitter.

Preeti Pal created history as she became the first Indian woman track and field athlete to win two medals at the Paralympics while clinching the bronze in the 200m T35 category with a personal best time of 30.01 seconds on Sunday. The bronze won by the 23-year-old Preethi was also India's second para-athletics medal in the Paris Paralympics.

The 23-year-old Preethi also became only the second Indian woman to win two medals — both bronze — in a single Paralympic Event after shooter Avani Lekhara who won a gold and a bronze in Tokyo three years ago.
